You are cordially invited to the opening of the travelling exhibition V4+2024. Central European Family Houses, which will take place on Monday, 14 April 2025, at 7 pm at the DESSA Gallery.
Organised by the Association of Hungarian Architects (AHA) since 2008, the V4 Travelling Exhibition highlights cross-border integration. This time entitled V4+2024, it presents a selection of 24 contemporary and sustainably designed single-family houses from the Central European region, reflecting the spirit of place and tradition. The aim of the exhibition is to compare the architectural achievements of the participating countries, which share some historical and cultural similarities, and to provide an up-to-date feedback on the current architectural situation in the design and construction of single-family houses.
The V4 Group consists of four permanent members – Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, with Romania and Slovenia invited to join the V4+2024 exhibition.
This exhibition, a collaboration between the AHA, the Slovenian DESSA Gallery, the Polish Association of Architects (SARP), the Slovak Association of Architects (SAS), the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Prague and the Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, aims to present to the public and the profession in a comparative way selected examples of quality contemporary Central European single-family houses and the intellectual and physical potential of this architectural field.
The travelling exhibition will be presented in cooperation with the architectural organisations of the regions in the Central European capitals of Budapest, Prague, Krakow, Kassa, Bratislava, Ljubljana and also in Havana (Cuba). In addition to a cross-border comparative perspective, it will also strengthen cooperation between the countries of the Central European region.
The Association of Hungarian Architects (2 Ötpacsirta Street, 1088 Budapest, Hungary), the initiator and main organiser of the travelling exhibition, is the leading institution of Hungarian architects and a member and representative of the Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA), founded in 1902 by renowned architects. The AHA is, as they themselves wrote, a professional organisation open to any talented architect, whether young, mature designer or wise master. Its members are renowned personalities of the Hungarian Society of Architects who practise at a high level and make architecture an integral part of culture.
